Sovereignty of God

I'm responsible to wash the dishes.
These vessels of men fill sinks in with tasks
Testing our love. Do we love what He asks?
I am responsible despite this wish
For sovereignty to take over my day
Of work and error and terror at my
Own just consequence for sin justified—
Pagan bent to sin. Just make me obey!
Sinner and saint—I work and silent, pray
For the grace to embrace this faithful job
Of wife and mother and sister and friend,
Even as I toil under my sin
In this dance with the sovereignty of God.
